Né de la scission du domaine Pichon-Longueville en 1850, Le château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2ème Grand Cru Classé se situe dans l’appellation Pauillac. Le vignoble du château qui s’étend sur 85 hectares possède la particularité d’avoir 11 hectares qui se trouvent sur la commune de Saint-Julien. Le terroir sur lequel reposent les vignes est constitué de graves garonnaise sur argiles.
L’encépagement est composé de cabernet sauvignon (45%), merlot (35%), cabernet franc (12%) et de petit verdot (8%). L’âge moyen des vignes est de 35 ans. Les vendanges sont manuelles, la cuvaison s’effectue dans des cuves en inox. Le grand vin est élevé pendant 18 à 20 mois en barriques, dont 50% en chêne neuf et 50% en chêne d’un an.
Les vins du château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande sont marqués par leur élégance, l’équilibre et la finesse. L’encépagement très particulier du château lui confère une personnalité d’exception.
Le domaine produit également un second vin « Réserve de la Comtesse ».
